7.3.2008: weeks 2 and 3

movie of the day: jumanji (in spanish)

tons of pictures and stuff. its been a while.

two weekends ago, we went up in the hills and cooked wattia, a traditional peruvian potato dish cooked by first builidng an oven out of dirt, burning wood to coals inside, tossing in potatos, then collapsing the dirt oven around the potatos. the food was a little dirty, but still the bomb.

im on a mission try try every candy in cusco. so far, mogul frutales is my favorite. at this point i feel like cusco really shines when it comes to fruity candies. their chocolates could use some work.

this past weekend i went on a 4 day trek to machu picchu, the most famous of the known incan ruins and one of the 7 wonders of the world. the first day was spent biking from the top of a mountain down into the jungle.
